BEFORE THE COLLECTION, THE STORY

What’s the story?

Red leaves Pallet Town with a Pokédex and plenty of confidence in his skills as a Pokémon Trainer. Encounters with Professor Oak, his rival Blue and Misty challenge that confidence, while Team Rocket’s activities turn his journey into more than a contest between Trainers. This first volume collects fourteen chapters and launches the Kanto adventure, pairing Hidenori Kusaka’s story with Mato’s artwork. It begins the series known internationally as Pokémon Adventures, following its own interpretation of the world introduced in the original games.
