BEFORE THE COLLECTION, THE STORY
What’s the story?
Yusaku Godai struggles to study for university entrance exams in the noisy Ikkoku boarding house. Its new manager, Kyoko Otonashi, gives him a reason to stay, although meddling neighbours undermine his attempts to impress her. Everyday comedy gradually reveals insecurity, longing and the lasting presence of an earlier love.
